With the QK6000 Kit there is absolutely no need to remove the flywheel housing and rear seal adapter. However if for any reason, you do need to remove the rear seal adapter from the back of the block, we do include a Cummins supplied stamped steel centering ring to center the rear seal adapter.
The centering ring is required to center the seal adapter because Cummins did not dowel the seal retainer to the block so it can be installed off center unless you use the line up ring. For service procedures, see TSB6000.

The Seal Retainer is gasketed to both the back of the block and the top of the oil pan.

Our Aluminum Crank Seal Installer will install both replacement seals and seals with wear sleeves to the correct depth on Cummins Dodge 5.7L and 6.7L Diesels plus most 4BT and 6BT Diesel engines. This includes Dodge trucks and most industrial, ag, marine, and automotive engines with 4BT and 6BT diesel engines. Replaces Cummins crank seal installer tool 3824078.
